Our Saxon Broadsword is a replica based on the styles of blades used by Saxon warriors during the 5th and 6th centuries. It features a long, carbon steel blade, a short, thick wooden crossguard and pommel both plated with brass, sandwiched around a long and thin wooden grip. The brass plates on the pommel and crossguard are adorned with etchings pointing inwards, parallel to the grip. The blade itself has a large fuller, a full-length tang and a slight taper towards the point. Accompanying the sword is a wooden scabbard wrapped in leather, with a brass neck and chape.
Deepeeka claims this weapon is battle ready, but we are yet to fully test it here at Medieval Fight Club. We recommend further rounding of the tip before use in reenactment.
